V Rising

Game presets, PvP and PvE, admin access, saves and server listing.

Everything in Your panel applies. These are the V Rising specifics.

Startup parameters

V Rising exposes more than most games:

The preset is the fastest route to a working ruleset. Fine-tuning beyond it happens in the server's settings files, which you edit in the file manager.

PvP or PvE

Chosen through the preset, then refined in the settings files. Changing the mode on a running server is possible but disruptive — players build around the rules, and switching mid-season tends to upset that.

Decide before you invite people, or announce it well in advance.

Admin access

Add yourself to the server's admin list file through the file manager. That unlocks the in-game admin commands for kicks, bans and general moderation.

The console is available too, and is where you go if the game itself is unresponsive.

Saves

Save Count and Save Interval control the rotation. The defaults are reasonable; raise the count before a risky change so you have more points to return to.

Uploading an existing save: put the files in place with the server stopped, set Save Name to match, and back up whatever was already there first.

Memory

Plans start at 6 GB. Memory use grows with the number of players and, especially, with how much has been built — castles are persistent structures the server has to keep track of.

Mods

There is a community modding scene but it is not an official feature. You have full file access, so you can install what a mod's instructions call for. Expect players to need matching mods, and expect a game update to break them occasionally until authors catch up.
