Hytale
Auth mode, patchline, early plugin support and what to expect from a game at launch.
Everything in Your panel applies. These are the Hytale specifics.
Startup parameters
- Auth Mode — how players are authenticated
- Patchline — which build stream the server follows
- Allow OP — whether operator privileges can be granted in-game
- Accept Early Plugins — opt in to plugin support while it is still maturing
- Install Server Query Plugin and Query Port — for server listing and status
- AOT Cache — a startup performance option
Change a value, save, restart. Nothing applies until the next boot.
Plugins
Hytale's plugin ecosystem is young. Accept Early Plugins exists because the interfaces are still settling — enabling it lets you run what the community has built, with the understanding that a game update may break it.
Plugin files are uploaded through the file manager or SFTP like any other game.
If a plugin stops working right after an update, that is expected at this stage rather than a server fault.
Auth mode
Controls how the server verifies players. The default suits most public servers; change it only if you know why you need to. A wrong auth mode is a common reason legitimate players cannot connect.
Memory
Plans start at 4 GB. As with any world-based game, memory use grows with the number of players and how much of the world has been explored and built on.
Because Hytale is new, the practical requirements will shift as the game matures — treat published figures as a starting point and watch how your own server behaves.
Expect movement
Hytale is early in its life, and that has consequences worth planning for:
Back up before updates. Save format changes are possible between builds, and a backup is the only way back.
Patchline matters. Following an unstable patchline gets you new features sooner and breakage sooner. For a server your friends actually play on, stable is the sensible choice.
Plugin ecosystems take time. What exists today is a fraction of what will exist in a year. If a feature you want is missing, it may simply not be built yet.
