American Truck Simulator
Generating the server package, keeping DLC in sync and what the panel exposes.
Everything in Your panel applies. ATS works the same way as its European sibling — if you also run Euro Truck Simulator 2, everything below will look familiar.
Startup parameters
- Lobby Name — what players see
- Steam Token — a Steam Game Server Login Token, needed for public listing
Everything else comes from the server package.
The server package file
ATS dedicated servers are configured from a package generated inside the game, not from a config file you edit on the server.
- Set up the session in your own copy of the game, with the state DLC and mods you want
- Generate the server package
- Upload it through the file manager or SFTP
Regenerate and re-upload it whenever your mod or DLC lineup changes. A stale package is the usual reason players cannot join or end up in a session that does not match theirs.
Matching DLC
Effectively everyone in the convoy should own the same map DLC and load the same mods. ATS has a lot of state DLC, and a mismatch tends to show up as a failed join rather than a clear error.
Agreeing on one setup and sharing a Steam Workshop collection keeps this manageable.
Memory
Plans start at 2 GB. ATS is light — the server coordinates a convoy rather than simulating a world.
Consider more headroom if you run a stack of state DLC together, layer mods on top, or want the session running permanently for a bigger group.
Slots
The slot number is set in the server configuration. Like ETS2, this is a game built around small groups driving together rather than large populations.
