FAQ / Questions & Answers

Our plans start at 2 GB (€3.99/mo), which is a sensible starting point for a private server or a small community running stock maps. Go higher if you are aiming at a busy public server, a long rotation of large custom maps, or a stack of plugins on top of the base game. You can move up a tier later without losing your configs.
Yes. Map files go into the maps folder through the file manager or FTP, and you then add them to your map cycle or start one directly from the console. There is no limit on how many you keep installed beyond your disk space, and every plan runs on NVMe so map changes load quickly.
Not if you set the server up to send content on join. Most community servers use a fast download host so maps and custom assets arrive at a reasonable speed rather than trickling through the game connection. Both the in-game transfer settings and the fast download address live in your server config, which you can edit in the panel.
Yes. Community servers typically add a plugin framework such as MetaMod and SourceMod, and from there plugins are files you drop into the right folder and configure. That is how most custom modes, votes, stats and moderation tools are run. Everything installs through the file manager or FTP, so you do not need to ask us to add anything.
You get a live console in the panel where you can watch the log and type server commands, plus full file and FTP access to your configs. In-game admin powers are usually granted through your plugin framework's admin list, and you can also set an RCON password to manage the server from the game client. Scheduled restarts are available at any time, and manual backups within the backup slots your plan includes.
When Valve ships a game update, the server files update on restart, so a scheduled restart normally keeps you in step with the client. Plugins are a separate matter and occasionally need their own update after a game patch. Taking a manual backup before a big update makes it easy to get back to a working configuration if something misbehaves.
You choose your location when ordering: Falkenstein (Germany), Warsaw (Poland), London (UK) or Gravelines (France). Pick the one closest to you — the shorter the distance, the lower your ping.
Yes, and it costs nothing extra. Game Swaps are included in every plan: turn the same server into another supported game in one click, and each game keeps its own saved preset so nothing is lost when you swap back. Heavier games need more memory, so which titles you can run depends on the plan you pick — hover the info icon next to Game Swaps on any plan above to see how many that plan can run.
